Accreditation Site Visit for the Master’s Programme “Education and Teaching in Mathematics in the Turkish Language” at University"Ukshin Hoti" Prizren

At University “Ukshin Hoti” Prizren, on 13 February 2026, an accreditation site visit was conducted as part of the accreditation procedure for the Master’s programme “Education and Teaching in Mathematics in the Turkish Language”, organized by the Kosovo Accreditation Agency.

During the visit, the international expert team—Giga Khositashvilli, Hasan Çakır (online), and Juraj Bogat (online)—carried out a comprehensive schedule of meetings with the faculty management, programme holders, academic and administrative staff, students, as well as representatives of employers and external stakeholders. The process was coordinated by KAA officers Mimoza Dobra and Betim Sherifi.

The meetings focused on evaluating the academic quality of the programme, quality assurance mechanisms, infrastructural capacities, staff qualifications, student involvement, and the programme’s alignment with the labour market. The experts also conducted visits to the teaching facilities and infrastructure of the faculty.

At the conclusion of the visit, a closing meeting was held with the faculty management and programme leadership, during which preliminary findings and the next steps of the accreditation process were discussed.

Meeting Held to Strengthen University Cooperation with French Institutions

At the University “Ukshin Hoti” Prizren, an official meeting was held with representatives of French university cooperation, with the aim of promoting and strengthening academic collaboration between the University and French higher education institutions.The University’s Vice-Rector, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Serdan Kervan, welcomed Mr. Frédéric Deshayes, for university cooperation, as well as Ms. Julie Busnel, Head of Campus France at the Institut Français de Prishtina.During the meeting, concrete opportunities were discussed for expanding inter-institutional cooperation, including student and academic staff mobility, scientific exchanges, and the promotion of study programs and scholarships in France. The parties expressed their readiness to intensify cooperation and to build long-term partnerships between higher education institutions.The meeting was assessed as an important step toward the internationalization of the University “Ukshin Hoti” Prizren and the creation of new academic opportunities for its students and staff.

Prof. Ass. Dr. Serdan Kervan has been elected a member of the National Science Council

Prof. Ass. Dr. Serdan Kervan, a teacher at the Faculty of Education at the University “Ukshin Hoti” in Prizren, has been elected a member of the National Council of Science.

The National Council of Science is a professional body established by the Assembly of Kosovo that takes care of the development of scientific-scientific and technological activity in the Republic of Kosovo. The election of our teacher to this important body is good news.

Prof. Ass. Dr. Serdan Kervan, was born on 06.08.1984 in Prizren. He completed primary and secondary school in Prizren. He successfully completed his bachelor studies at the Faculty of Education of the University of Prishtina, in the Primary Program. In 2017, he successfully completed his doctoral studies, and received the title of Doctor of Science at Balıkesir University, Department of Education and Curriculum Sciences.

Professor Kervan has worked for 12 years as a primary school teacher at the “Mustafa Baki” School and for 8 years as a lecturer at the “Ukshin Hoti” University of Prizren.

From 2013-2015, she was a member of the Board of the Kosovo Teachers Association.

She has worthily represented the community on the Board of Directors of Mustafa Bakiu Primary School, since 2015.

Participated in many seminars on community rights at MEST.
Participated in the PISA Commissions, TIMSS and the Commissions for the Kosovo Preschool Education Curriculum.
Has been the coordinator of many projects, including ongoing seminars for teachers.
As a manager in the Project “Increasing the Qualifications of the Academic Staff of Kosovo”, has ensured the implementation of the project abroad.
Participated as a coordinator of Kosovo in the organization of symposia held with Turkish Universities, and in many European countries and especially the Balkans.
Prof Kervan, is the representative of Kosovo in the World Association of Educational Research.
At the University “Ukshin Hoti” is a member of the Central Commission for Quality Assurance, member of the Research Cult Project, and has been part of many professional commissions within the University.
