Prof. Asoc. Dr. Vedat Bajrami

Dean – Faculty of Education

Prof. Assoc. Dr. Vedat Bajrami is the Dean and an Associate Professor at the Faculty of Education of the University “Ukshin Hoti” in Prizren, with over three decades of experience in education, academic research, and university management. He has made a significant contribution to the development of inclusive and special education in Kosovo.

He completed his doctoral and master’s studies in Inclusive Education at the Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, while his undergraduate studies were completed in Special Education and Rehabilitation at the University of Belgrade. He has also pursued professional development at an expert level in Inclusive Education within the FSDEK program, in cooperation with the University of Jyväskylä (Finland) and the University of Prishtina.

At the institutional level, Prof. Bajrami has held several important leadership positions. He currently serves as Dean of the Faculty of Education (2022–present), and previously held the role of Vice Dean (2018–2021). From 2002 to 2016, he served as Senior Officer for Inclusive Education at the Ministry of Education, Science, Technology and Innovation (MESTI).

Prof. Bajrami is the author of over 43 scientific and professional papers, published in international journals and conferences. He has authored one monograph and co-authored two anthologies addressing issues of inclusive and special education in Kosovo. In addition, he is the author of three professional manuals designed for working with children with special needs.

He has participated and presented in numerous international conferences across Europe and the region, and is actively involved in national and international research projects, including collaborations with organizations such as OECD, Save the Children, Council of Europe, HERAS+, and Caritas Switzerland, among others.

His fields of expertise include:

WORK PROGRAM OF THE DEAN OF THE FACULTY OF EDUCATION FOR THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2024/2025

1. Introduction: Objectives and Guiding Principles

The Work Program of the Dean of the Faculty of Education at the University “Ukshin Hoti” Prizren is founded on the importance, role, and leadership position of the Faculty as a key institution in the education and professional development of teachers and educators within the education system of the Republic of Kosovo.

While the Program focuses primarily on the internal development and improvement of the Faculty of Education, it also has a direct impact on advancing educational and pedagogical activities within society as a whole. Consequently, it places a shared responsibility on both the Dean and the institution he leads.

2. Strategic Priorities for the Academic Year 2024/2025

To maintain and strengthen its leading position in the national system of pre-primary and primary education, the Work Program for 2024/2025 will focus on the following strategic areas:

  1. Development and enhancement of academic and institutional organization of the Faculty as a key national entity in the field of education.
  2. Advancement of educational theory and practice, supported by scientific and professional research.
  3. Strengthening institutional influence in the formulation and implementation of educational strategies and development policies, with a special focus on pre-primary and primary education.
  4. Improving regional and international cooperation, grounded in verifiable scientific results and successful academic experiences.
  5. Enhancing institutional, scientific, and professional capacities of the Faculty as a key driver of continuous professional development for teachers and educators.
  6. Securing and improving financial, material, and technological resources to ensure sustainable growth and academic excellence.

3. Core Principles for Implementation

The achievement of these objectives will be guided by the following principles:

  • Legality and transparency in faculty governance and staff activities;
  • Respect for the Code of Ethics and professional integrity;
  • Academic autonomy of the Faculty as an educational and research institution;
  • Fair and merit-based evaluation of academic work and achievements;
  • Respect for institutional tradition while ensuring continuous improvement of quality;
  • Equality and equal opportunities for all departments and study programs;
  • Protection of the public interest from any misuse for private gain;
  • Protection of students’ rights and dignity, ensuring full respect for all obligations arising from the educational process.

4. Key Areas of Focus for 2024/2025

Based on these goals and principles, the Faculty of Education will concentrate its activities during the academic year 2024/2025 on the following key areas:

  1. Study programs and accreditation processes
  2. Students and academic support services
  3. Teaching quality, academic staff, and performance evaluation
  4. Scientific and professional research activities
  5. Academic and professional publishing
  6. International cooperation and Erasmus+ projects
  7. Community engagement and collaboration with universities, ministries, and relevant institutions
  8. Institutional organization and faculty management
  9. Workplace conditions, library development, IT systems, and infrastructure improvement
  10. Participation in developmental and research projects that enable funding for the advancement of scientific, teaching, and infrastructural activities of the Faculty.
